Mercedes-Benz mid-size passenger wagons have a long history, traceable back to the IMA-produced W110 estate cars of 1966, which led to the “official” W123 estate cars two production generations later in 1977. The E-Class wagon debuted as a 1993 model, and has evolved over the course of five generations of production. The most recent E-Class generation began in the 2018 model year, bearing the internal designation W213. A facelift and touchup, known in the auto industry as a “mid-cycle refresh,” has birthed the exciting new variant on the E-Class wagon, the E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain and its high-performance cousin, the AMG E 63 S Wagon.
